#153 Simply SweaterBabe Top-Down Cardigan

$9.00

If you're looking to elevate your wardrobe with stylish yet functional pieces, you won't want to miss this gorgeous cardigan pattern! I believe that even your closet staples should be anything but boring, and this cardigan embodies that philosophy perfectly. Designed to fill a crucial functional gap in my wardrobe, this cardigan is a chic addition that is far from basic!

This cardigan features classic shaping to ensure a well-fitting result. One of my favorite elements is the beautiful lace panels in the front, complemented by a wider lace panel on the back. These design features are signature to SweaterBabe, and as a passionate knitter, I can confidently say that I need lace and/or cables in my projects to truly enjoy the knitting experience!

The longer length of this cardigan aligns perfectly with current fashion trends while offering a flattering, elongated silhouette. It's tailored to work harmoniously with my longer tops and skinny jeans, making it a versatile piece for various outfits. Whether dressing up for a night out or keeping it casual for everyday wear, this cardigan has got you covered.

With slim, full-length sleeves, the design remains sleek and sophisticated. The longer ribbed cuffs are a practical touch that adds versatility; you can easily fold them up to bracelet length for a more relaxed feel, or keep them long for added warmth during chillier days.

Crafted using a luxurious, soft cashmere blend yarn, this cardigan promises both comfort and style, making it a delightful project for any knitter. And, of course, it's designed in this season's must-have neutral color—grey—making it an ideal choice for mixing and matching with your existing wardrobe.

The sample is beautifully shown in Knitpicks Capra DK, but I’ve also included a suggested substitute below for your convenience. Additionally, please note there is an important update: as of 2/1/16, errata was discovered regarding sleeve measurements for sizes 2X and 3X. A new version of the pattern has been uploaded to ensure a seamless knitting experience.
