500 Mile Promise
This exquisite shawl is a heartfelt creation designed for a bride whose wedding was postponed due to the pandemic. As a surprise gift, her talented sister lovingly dyed the yarn to perfectly match the bridesmaid dresses, creating a beautiful symbol of their promise made even while living over 500 miles apart. Though the wedding was delayed, the love and dedication behind this shawl have turned it into a cherished keepsake for the bride.
**Finished Size:** 18” x 63” once wet blocked. This shawl is not only a stunning accessory but also a practical addition to any bridal ensemble and can be tailored with the included modification instructions to suit your style.
**Yarn Information:** For this beautiful shawl, we used Snallygaster Fibers Orion Luxe Fingering, which consists of an elegant blend of 50% Merino wool and 50% silk. With 438 yards per 100 grams, this luxurious yarn offers indulgent softness and a gorgeous drape. The sample shawl was crafted in the enchanting colorway Majestic, utilizing approximately 650 yards for a stunning finish.
**Materials Needed:** To enhance the beauty of your shawl, you will also require 6/0 glass seed beads and a beading tool of your choice; personally, I recommend using a tiny crochet hook for effortless beading.
**Needles:** For this project, a 24” or longer circular needle in size 5 US (3.75mm) is suggested, or use a size that allows you to achieve the desired gauge for your shawl.
**Gauge:** The desired gauge is 20 stitches and 22 rows in wet-blocked stockinette stitch. While gauge is not critical for this delightful shawl, be mindful that it can influence your total yardage and overall drape, allowing for personal adjustments to fit your preferences.
Craft this stunning shawl as a special gift for a loved one, or indulge yourself in a soothing knitting project that brings warmth and beauty to any occasion. Perfect for brides, special events, or cozy evenings at home, this shawl pattern is sure to become a favorite in your knitting collection.
