MATERIALS NEEDED
To create this project, you will need approximately 345 yards (316 meters) of worsted weight yarn. For the sample, I used We Are Knitters MeriFine yarn, which is composed of 100% Merino Wool. Each ball contains 123 yards (112 meters) and weighs 50 grams. The sample features two colorways: ‘Grey’ and ‘Blue Rey.’ You will need 2 balls of each color to complete the design.
NEEDLES REQUIRED
For this project, you will need US size 10 (6.00 mm) circular needles with a 16-inch (41 cm) circumference. Make sure to choose the needle size that allows you to match the gauge specified below for best results.
GAUGE
The gauge for this pattern is measured in Stockinette stitch, worked in the round. You should aim for 18 stitches and 23.5 rounds per 4 inches (10 cm). Achieving the correct gauge is crucial for ensuring a properly fitting final product.
DIMENSIONS & SIZING
The finished cowl measures 8.25 inches (21 cm) wide by 27.25 inches (69 cm) in circumference. Please note that the cowl is knitted in a tube and sewn together at both ends. The tube has a circumference of 16.5 inches (42 cm) when measured around, but it lays flat at 8.25 inches (21 cm).
This versatile cowl not only provides warmth but also showcases an attractive design perfect for any knitting enthusiast.
