Alpine Hat

$6.50

Introducing the Alpine Hat – a beautifully crafted knit hat that combines the charm of cable work with a delicate lace stitch. This stylish hat is designed to be worked from the bottom up in the round, making it an enjoyable knitting project for those who love circular knitting techniques. Initially, you will use small circumference circular needles, followed by the magic loop technique for the elegant top decreases. Perfect for knitters at all levels who want to enhance their skills!

Yarn Requirements: To create your own Alpine Hat, you'll need approximately 300 yards of fingering weight yarn. For this sample, we used Liliacraftparty's British Sock weight yarn, which provides 437 yards (400m) per 100 grams. Choosing a high-quality yarn will ensure your hat is not only beautiful but also comfortable and warm.

Recommended Needle Sizes: For knitting the Alpine Hat, use US 3 (3.25 mm) 16” (40cm) circular needles for the initial rounds. As you progress to the decrease section, you can switch to US 3 (3.25 mm) double-pointed needles (DPNs) or opt for a 31” (80cm) circular needle if you prefer the magic loop method.

Finished Size: This exquisite hat features an unstretched circumference of 15” (38.5cm) and measures 8.5” (22cm) in length from the brim to the top. The Alpine Hat is designed to fit head sizes ranging from 19” to 22” (48 to 56cm) in circumference, making it a versatile accessory for a variety of individuals.
