Andalus
When I first encountered the BabyLove Brand's gorgeous crochet Trellis & Chevron blanket at the 2016 GAL, I was instantly inspired to create something unique in knitting — a design that incorporates the beautiful Moroccan Ogees pattern, minus the worry of color choices. The result is the self-edged Andalus blanket, a stunning piece that beautifully blends form and function in a single knit creation.
The Andalus is expertly knit in one continuous piece, offering a seamless experience. The design features alternating stockinette and reverse stockinette “tiles” that are skillfully shaped through strategic increases and decreases, giving it a dynamic visual appeal. Between these tiles, you'll find a narrow ribbing edge that adds texture and contrast. The nearly horizontal sections utilize clever reversible “Short Row Slides,” a technique that enhances the overall design while keeping the knitting process engaging.
This pattern is designed to be user-friendly, with clear explanations of the Short Row Slides technique included. You'll find a combination of both written instructions and detailed charts to guide you through each step, making it suitable for knitters of various skill levels.
