Construction Notes
Throughout the construction of these mittens, only the Main Color (MC) and Color Contrast 1 (CC1) are carried. During the finishing touches, CC2, CC3, and CC4 stitches are meticulously duplicate stitched to add depth and detail to your work. Delight in the creative process as you customize your mittens to reflect your personal style.
The thumbs of the mittens feature special spaces for you to personalize them with the year and the initials of the mitten owner, making this pattern not just functional but also meaningful.
Materials Required
You will need fingering weight yarn - I recommend selecting yarn made from natural fibers to achieve excellent stitch definition. Variegated yarns can elevate this design and create stunning visual effects that mirror the swirling patterns of the Andromeda Galaxy.
Yardage is approximate:
- 150 yards of Main Color (MC)
- 150 yards of Color Contrast 1 (CC1)
- 20 yards of Color Contrast 2 (CC2)
- 10 yards of Color Contrast 3 (CC3)
- 5 yards of Color Contrast 4 (CC4)
Necessary Notions
Don’t forget your general knitting supplies: scrap yarn, 7 stitch markers, and a tapestry needle to weave in those ends! These essential tools will help you create your beautiful Andromeda Galaxy mittens with ease.
