Apoorva is a charming, seamless, bottom-up kid’s vest that is knit in the round and features a beautiful central lace panel created with the double herringbone mesh stitch. This delightful vest is not only stylish but also unisex, making it a versatile addition to any child's wardrobe. The name Apoorva is inspired by my angel baby girl and symbolizes uniqueness, being “never before,” or “unprecedented.” This lovely vest is available in seven sizes for babies, toddlers, and children, ranging from Preemie and Newborn sizes all the way up to 6 years, ensuring that your little one looks trendy at every stage of their growth.*

Sizes Available: Preemie (0-6 months), Newborn (6-12 months), 1-2 years, 2-3 years, 3-4 years, 5-6 years, offering perfect fit options for all ages.

Finished Measurements: The finished chest sizes range from 14 inches (35.6 cm) for Preemie up to 25.2 inches (64 cm) for 5-6 years, tailored to fit chests of 14 (35.6 cm), 16 (40.6 cm), 18 (45.7 cm), 20 (50.8 cm), 22 (55.9 cm), 23 (58.4 cm), and 25 inches (63.5 cm) respectively, ensuring comfort and room for growth.

Yarn Recommendations: For this lovely vest, we recommend using Ganga Taj Mahal yarn, which is made from 100% superfine merino wool. Each ball of this luxurious yarn contains 118 yards (108 meters) and weighs 50 grams. You will need 2 balls for the smaller sizes (0-2 years) and 3 balls for larger sizes (3-6 years) in color 06 Crayola, making it an accessible and affordable project.

Gauge: Achieve an accurate gauge of 20 stitches and 28 rows per 4 inches (10 cm) in stockinette stitch after wet blocking. Additionally, 1 pattern repeat measures 1.75 inches (4.5 cm) in the pattern stitch also after wet blocking, ensuring that your knitting results in a perfectly fitting vest.

This versatile pattern not only provides a unique handmade garment for your child but also makes for a thoughtful gift that embodies personal care and love. Whether you are an experienced knitter or a beginner looking to try something new, the Apoorva vest pattern is sure to inspire creativity and joy in your knitting journey.
