The pattern comes in two exciting versions: the original, crafted in two contrasting colours, and a fabulous stash-busting option perfect for using up those leftover yarns you have on hand.
Finished Measurements: Experience the elegance of the Appletini Shawl with a generous wingspan of 67 inches (170 cm) and a length of 36 inches (91.5 cm) along the bind-off edge, making it ideal for wrapping around your shoulders or draping elegantly over outfits.
Yarn Requirements: You will need approximately 500 yards (460 meters) of heavy DK or worsted weight yarn in total to complete this project. The original version features two colours that you can blend beautifully. However, if you prefer to experiment with colours, the stash-busting version allows you to creatively mix and match various shades from your collection!
Original Version (2 Colours): In this version, use Colour A: 250 yards (230 meters) and Colour B: 250 yards (230 meters) for a striking two-tone look that’s sure to turn heads.
Stash Busting Version (3 or More Colours): Embrace your creativity with this option! You’ll need Colour A: approximately 100 yards (92 meters), Colour B: approximately 250 yards (230 meters), and Colour C (or various leftovers): approximately 150 yards (140 meters). This version not only helps you declutter your yarn stash but also adds a personal touch to your new shawl.
Gauge (After Blocking): For optimal results, aim for a gauge of 18.5 stitches and 28 rows to equal 4 inches (10 cm) in garter stitch on the smaller needle size. Achieving the correct gauge is crucial for ensuring your shawl has the right drape and fit.
