Apr: Easter Egg Washcloth
Growing up, my Grandma Miller made every Easter special by organizing delightful Easter egg hunts for my cousins and me. She had a knack for hiding colorful plastic eggs filled with an assortment of treasures and goodies all around her charming yard—sometimes in the strawberry patch, sometimes tied to tree branches with playful strings, and often nestled in the lush grass. Inspired by those joyful memories, this Easter egg hunt-themed knitting pattern offers a perfect way to celebrate the season. All you need are some needles, yarn, and a little time on your hands. This pattern is a fun and fast project that’s sure to bring a smile to your face as you create it and put it to use. Plus, you can spread the joy by gifting a knit dishcloth to a friend or loved one!
**NOTE:** I especially love how a seed stitch border lays flat and creates a lovely texture that’s perfect for scrubbing surfaces. However, if you prefer a different look, you could easily replace the seed stitch with a garter stitch border. To do this, simply knit rows 1-3, ensure you knit the first three and last three stitches on rows 4-34, and then knit rows 35-37 to finish up.
This versatile pattern isn’t limited to dishcloths; it can also be fashioned into a potholder or trivet. Alternatively, consider displaying it as a decorative mat for your table or shelf to add a festive touch to your Easter décor. Whether you’re an experienced knitter or just starting out, this charming pattern is not only easy to follow but also a delightful way to celebrate the joy of Easter.
