On the Construction: This delightful pattern results in cozy knitted slippers that are both functional and stylish. Designed to be worked both flat and in the round, the process begins at the sole of the slipper for a unique construction method. To enhance durability and extend the life of your footwear, the slippers are expertly felted. For added comfort, a customized insole is knitted to size, ensuring a perfect fit. Note that this pattern incorporates German Short Rows, which provide a seamless look and greater ease for knitters at various skill levels.

Sizes: The slipper sizes are indicated in EU standards. For your convenience, a conversion chart for UK and US sizing can be found on this page. Please remember that these sizes are indicative, as the felting process can lead to variations in the final product. Women’s (Men’s) sizes are as follows: 34-36, 37-39, 40-42 (38-40, 41-43, 44-46).

UK Sizes: 3-4, 4.5-6.5, 7-8 (5.5-7, 7.5-8.5, 10-12)
US Sizes: 3.5-4.5, 5-7, 7-9 (6-7.5, 8-9, 10-12).

Yarn: For this project, you will need a Light DK or Sport weight yarn. We recommend using Drops ALASKA, which is 100% wool and comes in a convenient 50g / 1.8oz skein, providing 70m / 77yds of beautiful yarn.

Yarn Requirements: You will need approximately 1 skein of the yarn, totaling 50g / 1.8oz, to successfully complete your slippers.

Tension: The tension gauge for this pattern is essential for achieving the right fit. In stockinette stitch (Stst), aim for 17 stitches and 22 rows per 10cm / 4inches.

Needle Suggestions: For best results, use one 5mm / US8 needle along with a 100cm / 39inch cable to facilitate easier knitting in the round.

Notions Needed: Don’t forget your essential notions! This includes a darning needle for finishing touches, scissors for cutting yarn, and 2 stitch markers to keep your work organized.

With this detailed pattern, you can create a pair of beautiful felted slippers that will keep your feet warm and cozy throughout the chilly seasons. Happy knitting!
