Arctic Land

Arctic Land is the third design in the stunning Arctic Aura hap collection that I created in 2015. This unique knitting pattern showcases an extensive variety of intricate designs, offering the largest selection of patterns among all three haps in the series. Emulating the enchanting beauty of a wintry, glistening northern landscape, this piece is entirely white, reminiscent of pristine snow, where only sparkling water and crisp air introduce splashes of color against the serene backdrop.

Crafted from the inside out, this hap features a center square that is skillfully knitted diagonally, alternating between garter stitch and stocking stitch, accented by lovely Cat’s Paw lace motifs. The border of the hap is inspired by traditional Shetland diamond patterns, which I have reimagined to create a circular design. To enhance its beauty, the piece is finished with an exquisite edging that incorporates elegant waves, charming nupps, and delicate short spikes that extend perpendicularly to the knitted border. Due to the intricacies of the design, this hap requires careful blocking for the best results.
