Astrid's Socks
Welcome to my cozy corner of creativity, where I proudly present a delightful knitting pattern for a pair of socks inspired by an antique chair inherited from my beloved Granny Astrid. The woven cushions of this cherished chair feature a captivating pattern that has ignited my imagination and now serves as the perfect tribute to my adorable granny. These socks are not just a functional piece of clothing; they are a heartfelt homage to cherished family memories.
Designed specifically for a short leg, these socks are knit in the round using the popular heel flap heel method and feature a well-crafted gusset. An innovative heel extension is created using short rows, ensuring a comfortable and snug fit for your feet. This pattern is written for knitters working with a circular needle using the Magic Loop method. However, if you prefer using double-pointed needles (dpns), you can easily adjust the pattern to suit your needs.
The pattern comes in three sizes, accommodating different widths with stitch counts of (56)64(72) stitches. Furthermore, the foot length of the sock is highly adjustable, comfortably fitting any foot longer than 20 centimeters (8 inches), making it a versatile choice for all knitters and recipients. Whether you're making a pair for yourself or gifting them to a loved one, these socks are sure to bring warmth and joy.
This knitting pattern has been carefully Tech Edited by the talented Bellis23, ensuring clarity and accuracy throughout. A heartfelt thank you goes out to all my dedicated test knitters, whose feedback has been invaluable in perfecting this design!
I sincerely hope you enjoy knitting these lovely socks as much as I enjoyed creating them. Dive into the world of color and texture, and embrace the joy of crafting a beautiful piece that reflects both tradition and love. Happy knitting!
