DK Weight – Approximately 1200 (1400, 1600, 1800, 2000) yards needed to create a cozy pullover.
Worsted Weight – Approximately 1000 (1200, 1400, 1600, 1800) yards will give you the flexibility to choose a yarn that teams beautifully with this pattern.
Bulky Weight – Approximately 800 (900, 1000, 1100, 1200) yards for those seeking a quick stitch and an even cozier finish.
Needles: Use needles in a size that produces your desired gauge. Additionally, you will need needles a size or two smaller for the ribbing, as well as 16” circular needles in the smaller size specifically for the neck ribbing.
Gauge: Making a gauge swatch for this pattern is especially important to ensure a perfect fit. Knit a large swatch (4” - 6” square) using the gauge suitable for your chosen yarn. Most yarns come with a recommended gauge on their tag, which is an excellent starting point. Be sure to wash and block the swatch just as you plan to do with your future sweater. To determine your gauge accurately, measure the number of stitches and rows in a 4” square (this helps to accommodate any potential unevenness in your gauge), and then divide by 4 to calculate how many stitches and rows you have per inch.
In this pattern, directions are provided in inches rather than stitch counts. For instance, if the instructions indicate casting on enough stitches for 20” and your gauge is 4 sts per inch, simply cast on 80 sts for a beautifully fitting finish.
