Baby elephant kids beanie
Welcome to our adorable baby elephant parade! :) Introducing our delightful two-color baby to toddler beanie pattern, which can also be knitted in a preemie version for those tiny bundles of joy.
In the images, you'll see my three beanies in size XS and S, thoughtfully included in a charity package for the Advent bazaar at the hospital in Bamberg, dedicated to supporting women battling breast cancer. It’s a wonderful way to give back while enjoying your knitting passion!
This charming beanie features a cozy two-color ribbing followed by a playful design of little baby elephants, culminating in a fun striped top! If you’d like to add an extra touch, feel free to embellish it with a pompon on top for an added flair.
With its simple two-color design, this beanie is perfect for beginners exploring multicolor knitting techniques. You’ll find it manageable and fun, allowing you to craft a lovely accessory for little ones in no time.
For this pattern, I used 4-ply Acrylic yarn from Buttinette (Versailles), but you have options! You can also utilize 4-ply sock yarn or soft Merino yarn (4 to 5-ply) for a cozy finish. For preemie sizes, it’s best to stick with 4-ply sock yarn as it can be washed at high temperatures and disinfected, ensuring a healthy gift. When knitting preemie sizes, use 2.5 mm needle size, while for normal sizes, a 3.0 mm needle will do the trick.
