Baby Ruched Cardigan
**Update:**
Please note that there is an incorrect stitch count in the pattern that I am unable to correct due to technical issues. The stitch count after the 10-stitch increase is 118 [122, 126, 130, 138, 146] stitches.
This adorable baby cardigan design originally started with a scarf concept I came across two years ago. After putting the idea aside for a while, I couldn’t shake the inspiration and soon began sketching a complete design. I knew I had to bring this vision to life! The cardigan features a straightforward top-down raglan construction, making it an ideal choice for knitters of all skill levels.
The versatility of the gauge allows for a wide range of yarn options, so you can customize your baby cardigan to your liking. For a lovely, lightweight garment, I chose to use a fingering weight yarn, which gives a beautiful drape and feel.
For those interested in specific yardage, the 2T size is very close to requiring 462 yards. All testers reported using slightly less, coming in within a yard or two of this estimate. To ensure you have enough yarn for your project, I recommend planning for at least 2 skeins of fingering weight yarn to be safe.
Embarking on this knitting journey will not only enhance your skills, but it will also give you a charming cardigan that is perfect for any little one in your life. Join me in creating this delightful piece that combines both functionality and style! Happy knitting!
