Baby Wren
Introducing Baby Wren, a charming short-sleeved cardigan designed for little ladies, perfect for various occasions! This delightful cardigan is worked from the bottom up, requiring minimal finishing for busy knitters and making it an ideal project for both beginners and experienced crafters. Featuring a sweet patterned edge and a two-button closure, this cardigan boasts a lovely flyaway silhouette that adds a touch of elegance to any outfit.
Craft your Baby Wren cardigan with any worsted weight yarn of your choice. The sample was knit using Plymouth Yarn Encore Worsted, and depending on the size, you will need between 1 to 2 skeins. Below are the estimated yardages for each size:
- 0-6 months: 180 yards
- 6-12 months: 210 yards
- 12-18 months: 250 yards
- 18-24 months: 300 yards
To get started, you will need a pair of 5.5mm/US Size 9 24" circular needles along with 5.5mm/US Size 9 DPNs—or any needle size that helps you achieve the correct gauge. Additionally, don't forget to pick up two 5/8" buttons to complete your cardigan's adorable closure.
When knit to gauge (16 stitches & 20 rows = 4 inches), the chest circumferences for each size are as follows:
- 0-6 months: 18 inches
- 6-12 months: 20 inches
- 12-18 months: 22 inches
- 18-24 months: 24 inches
