Barrel Stitch Hat

While creating a cozy pair of clog slippers for my husband, I found myself inspired by the chunky braid stitch typically used for making cuffs. This led me to experiment with some scrap yarn, resulting in an innovative new technique that I’m calling the “Barrel Stitch.” The finished fabric resembles stacked rows of little barrels, which adds a delightful texture and warmth to any project.

For this project, I chose a full skein of Hobby Lobby's beloved I Love This Yarn in the stunning Morning Glow colorway.
