Baskara Cord Cowl - knitting pattern

Baskara Cord Cowl

$6.20

Introducing a versatile and unisex design that not only keeps your neck warm but can also double as a stylish hat! Originally created for my friend, I've dedicated this pattern to my husband, infusing it with love and care.

This easy knitting project is perfect for those who have mastered the basics of knitting and are comfortable working in the round. If you’re ready to take on a fun challenge, all you need to tackle is a slight pick-up at the beginning of the work. You'll be knitting like a pro in no time!

Although I initially crafted this hat in just one size, I encourage you to get creative! Experimenting with different needle sizes and yarn weights allows you to create variations that best suit your preferences.

The sample was knitted using Lana Grossa Bingo Melange yarn, but feel free to substitute it with any Aran weight yarn that is ideal for 4.5 - 5.5 mm knitting needles. For this pattern, I intentionally selected a larger needle size than typically recommended for the yarn to give it a unique texture and finish.

Yarn weight: Aran (8 wpi)

Gauge: 15.5 stitches and 22 rows = 10 cm in stockinette with 6 mm needles

Needle sizes: US 9 (5.5 mm) and US 10 (6.0 mm)

Yardage: Approximately 142 - 175 yards (130 - 160 m)

This pattern is perfect for beginners and experienced knitters alike, making it a great addition to your collection of cozy accessories. Share it with your knitting circle and enjoy creating warm, handmade pieces that everyone will love!
