This adorable hat embodies her lively spirit, making it a must-have accessory for little ones who love to express themselves.
This versatile knitting pattern is available in 5 different sizes, including a doll-sized option, making it perfect for gifts or family matching outfits. My daughter, who is just 5 years old, is proudly showcasing the Child size in the accompanying photos. Skills Needed: This project is ideal for knitters with basic skills, including casting on, knitting, purling, and performing basic increases and decreases. If you're looking to expand your knitting abilities while creating a beautiful piece, this is the perfect pattern for you.
Gauge: Achieving the correct gauge is crucial for this project to ensure proper fit and sizing. The gauge is 17 stitches and 24 rows over a 10cm / 4” swatch in stockinette stitch, worked in the round, using larger needles and wet blocking. The right gauge not only influences yarn consumption but also plays a significant role in determining the final size of the hat.
Yarn Requirements: The Bavarde Hat requires between 25g to 50g (depending on the size) of any worsted-weight yarn that meets the specified gauge. For your project, you will need 65m to 125m (or 69yd to 137yd). Our sample was crafted using De Rerum Natura Gilliatt, a luxurious Worsted/10 ply yarn made from 100% merino wool, which comes in a generous 100g skein with 250m (273yd). We chose the beautiful colourway Confiture de Rose, but feel free to pick any color that inspires you!
