Bendigo Shawl

Arguably the largest and most exciting fibre event in Australia is the Sheep and Wool Show, held annually in the vibrant city of Bendigo. I had the immense pleasure of attending this fantastic event for the first time in 2017, and it was every bit as wonderful as I had imagined it would be! For my interstate trip, I sought a relatively quick knitting project—something that was both easy to create and engaging enough to keep me occupied, while also helping to keep warm during the chilly nights. And so, the delightful Bendigo Shawl was born! This beautiful shawl is perfect for knitters of all skill levels, requiring just the fundamental techniques of knitting and purling. It looks stunning when crafted from yarn sourced directly from Bendigo Woollen Mill, but feel free to use any high-quality yarn local to your region!
