Berkeley Slouchy Hat

$4.00

Introducing this cozy knitted hat featuring oversized cables, designed to be a perfect and quick project for your leftover worsted weight yarn. This knitting pattern is ideal for both beginners and experienced knitters looking for a delightful, stylish accessory to keep you warm. While the hat showcases beautiful oversized cables, it primarily consists of a smooth stockinette stitch, making it a satisfying and enjoyable knit.

This hat is constructed from the bottom up, allowing for a seamless finish and a polished look. It’s a versatile piece that can easily be customized with different colors or yarn varieties to suit your personal style.

Materials Required: You will need 80 grams of worsted weight yarn. For the sample, we used Stone Wool Cormo worsted weight yarn (100% wool), which provides both warmth and breathability. You'll also need US size 10.5 (6.5 mm) DPN needles for the main body and US size 10 (6 mm) DPN needles for the ribbing. Don’t forget essential tools like stitch markers, a tapestry needle for weaving in ends, and scissors to cut your yarn.

Gauge: To achieve the best fit, use US size 10.5 DPNs to cast on 16 stitches and knit 20 rows to measure 4” (10 cm). If you're eager to expand your knitting repertoire, this hat pattern is an excellent choice for practicing your cable techniques while creating a warm and fashionable accessory. Enjoy crafting a cozy hat that’s perfect for chilly days, and don’t forget to share your finished project with fellow knitting enthusiasts!
