Bhairavi
Introducing the Bhairavi Shawl, a unique and versatile accessory that beautifully combines garter stitch and mesh techniques. This stunning shawl invites you to play with a variety of color combinations, making it a perfect addition to any knitwear collection. Bhairavi was specially designed in collaboration with Yarnaholic and LITLG, two notable names in the knitting community. You can soon get your hands on the yarn kit along with the pattern, available shortly in the LITLG shop. Additionally, the pattern will also be available for purchase at the Yarnaholic shop.
Materials Needed for the Bhairavi Shawl:
Yarn:
- SHIBUI Cima (comprising 70% superbaby alpaca and 30% fine merino wool; 328 yds/299 m, lace weight, 50 g) is ideal for a soft, luxurious finish.
- The sample showcased uses 1 skein of Fjord and 1 skein of Brass to achieve a stunning visual contrast.
Notions Needed:
- Tapestry needle
- Blocking tools (essential for shaping the shawl after completing your knit!)
Gauge Information:
Achieve a gauge of 17.5 stitches and 44 rows per 4 inches (10 cm) in Garter stitch for the body, once blocked. This is important to ensure your shawl turns out just the right size and texture.
We extend our gratitude to our Technical Editor, Mari Tobita, for her invaluable input, and to our special contributors: mafumafu, Cln, Quiltbetty, slikchik, LITLG, and Yarnaholic55. Your support has made this collaboration a delight!
