This delightful knitting pattern is an adaptation of the Vintage Rabbit design by the talented Sara E. Kellner, who has graciously permitted me to share this unique version. [Please note that this pattern does not stand alone. You will need a copy of Sara’s original pattern for essential details, including needle sizes, stitch instructions, materials, and assembly guidelines][1].

Featuring the beloved characters Big and Little Nutbrown Hare from Sam McBratney’s heartwarming book “[Guess How Much I Love You][2],” this adaptation was crafted with love to gift the book and adorable Hare family to a very special soon-to-be big brother. It’s a perfect way to celebrate new beginnings and sibling love!

In this version, "Big Nutbrown Hare" closely follows Sara’s original pattern with some personalized tweaks. I adjusted the structure of the pattern, modified the types and placements of decreases, and added a charming inner ear detail. Despite these changes, the heart and essence of Sara’s original design remain firmly intact, making it a wonderful homage.

On the other hand, "Little Nutbrown Hare" is my own creation, and I must say, he turned out to be an exceptionally cute little character! However, it’s crucial to acknowledge that this adaptation was made possible thanks to Sara’s exemplary version. I’m grateful for her inspiration and guidance throughout the process.

So, a heartfelt thank you to Sara for allowing me to present this stand-alone design that captures the magic of childhood and the warmth of family bonds. Knitters of all skill levels will enjoy the process of creating these adorable Hares, and both patterns will add a touch of charm to any child's room or make for a memorable gift.
