Birds of a Feather Handwarmers - knitting pattern

Birds of a Feather Handwarmers

$4.16

Introducing our delightful Fair Isle handwarmers, inspired by the charming birds that play along the hedgerows near my home! These beautifully crafted handwarmers not only keep your hands cozy but also showcase a stunning design that captures the essence of nature.

The Fair Isle pattern features identical designs on both the front and back of each handwarmer. This thoughtful design choice means that the right and left handwarmers are perfectly symmetrical, creating a beautiful mirror image of the intricate Fair Isle pattern when your hands are positioned palm up and together (as shown in the accompanying photos).

This knitting pattern is versatile, including detailed instructions to create handwarmers in three sizes: Small, Medium, and Large. The knuckle circumference for each size is as follows: 7" for size Small, 8" for size Medium, and 9" for size Large. This variety ensures a comfortable fit for everyone!

The handwarmers are expertly knitted in the round from the bottom up using double-pointed 3mm needles, making them an ideal project for knitters looking to hone their skills. For this project, we recommend using fingering weight yarn, specifically Jamieson's 2-Ply Spindrift (Shetland Wool). You'll need three colors: 1 ball each of Eggshell (768), Teviot (136), and Port Wine (293). Please note that one ball weighs 25 grams and provides approximately 105 meters of yarn.

Whether you're a novice or an experienced knitter, this pattern offers a satisfying project that adds a touch of warmth and style to your winter wardrobe. Perfect for gifting or as a cozy accessory for yourself, these Fair Isle handwarmers are sure to be a cherished addition to any collection.

We hope you enjoy this pattern and find joy in every stitch. Happy knitting!
