Before embarking on our memorable trip to Germany last winter, I was on the hunt for a super cozy hat that would be perfect for hiking through the scenic Black Forest. This hat truly fit the bill! Yarn: Jill Draper Makes Stuff Valkill (100% NYS Cheviot Wool), 4oz (113g), 252yds (230m). You will need just 1 skein of Jade to create this beautiful hat.
Needles: Use 1 US size 5 (3.75mm) 24” (60cm) or longer circular needle for magic loop technique or 1 set of DPNs. Choose the needle size needed to obtain the specified gauge.
Tools & Other Supplies: Don’t forget your tapestry or darning needle for weaving in ends, as well as stitch markers to help track your progress and pattern repeats.
Gauge: You should aim for 16 stitches x 28 rows = 4” (10cm) in the stitch pattern when using size US 5 (3.75mm) needles after blocking. Adjust your needle size if necessary to obtain the required gauge for the best results.
