Bokeh Cowl
Introducing a beautifully crafted cowl designed to keep your neck warm and cozy while you enjoy the cool weather. This stylish accessory is not only functional but also a pleasure to knit, featuring a delightful combination of two colors, varied stitch patterns, and incredibly soft yarn that feels wonderful against the skin.
YARN: We used baa ram ewe Titus, which boasts a generous yield of 350 yds / 320 m per 100 g skein. This exquisite yarn is made from 70% British Wool and 30% UK Alpaca, ensuring warmth and luxury in every stitch. If you're considering a yarn substitution, look for a heavy Fingering-weight yarn. You'll need approximately 320 yds / 295 m of Main Color (MC) and 100 yds / 90 m of Contrast Color (CC) to achieve the perfect look and feel.
NEEDLES & NOTIONS: To create this lovely cowl, gather your supplies, including a size 4 US / 3.5 mm circular needle, 24” / 60 cm long, and a size 6 US / 4 mm circular needle, also 24” / 60 cm long. Additionally, a row counter and a tapestry needle will be essential to help weave in those yarn ends neatly.
GAUGE: Achieving the right gauge is important for a perfect fit. For the two-color Linen stitch pattern using size 6 US / 4 mm needles, aim for 23 sts and 42 rnds, which measures 4” / 10 cm. For the Lace pattern using size 4 US / 3.5 mm needles, the gauge should be 23 sts and 34 rnds over a 4” / 10 cm square.
This cowl is a delightful addition to your wardrobe, perfect for layering during chilly outings or adding an extra touch of style to any outfit. Whether you’re an experienced knitter or a novice, this project promises to be both rewarding and enjoyable. Start knitting today and wrap yourself in the comfort of this lovely accessory!
