Bonbon
This is the first in my delightful series of candy patterns, meticulously designed with a high-quality fingering weight yarn that highlights the beauty of both variegated and solid Wollmeise 100%. This charming small shawl features unique shoulder seams, with clever increases hidden in the intricate cables that elegantly flow down the corners. The result is a stunning accessory that adds just the right hint of color to any outfit, while its thoughtful shape ensures it stays comfortably in place on your shoulders.
Finished Dimensions After Washing and Blocking: Approximately 26“/67 cm, creating a perfect wrap for any occasion.
Skill Level: This pattern is categorized as beginner/intermediate, making it a great project for knitters looking to expand their skills while enjoying a beautiful design.
Yarn: You will need one or more skeins of variegated fingering weight yarn. For this project, I used 1 skein with a total of 615.0 yards (562.4m) of Wollmeise 100% in the striking colorway Pfauenauge, complemented by another skein in a lovely shade of blue. This combination allows for a vibrant yet harmonious look.
Needles: For this shawl, use US 4/3.5 mm needles, which are ideal for creating the necessary stitch definition in this stunning design.
Notions: Don’t forget to gather 8 stitch markers, a cable needle for the cables, and a darning needle to weave in the ends neatly upon completion. These additional tools will ensure a smooth knitting experience.
Gauge: The gauge for this pattern is 20 stitches per 4"/10 cm after blocking in garter stitch; however, please note that while achieving the specified gauge is helpful, it is not crucial. Variations in your gauge may affect your final dimensions and yarn requirements, so feel free to knit at your own pace!
This pattern is not just a project; it's a perfect way to enhance your wardrobe with a unique, handmade accessory that is sure to receive compliments!
