Yardage Requirements: Each size requires different yardage, so you can plan your project accordingly. For the child/teen close-fitting version, you’ll need approximately 160 yards/45g, while the slouchy variant requires 190 yards/53g. The small adult close-fitting beanie calls for 175 yards/49g, and the slouchy variant requires 210 yards/58g. For the large adult sizes, the close-fitting option requires 210 yards/58g, and the slouchy version needs 280 yards/78g. (All yarn weights are based on Rowan Superfine Merino 4ply.)
The slouchy version of the Bookshelf Beanie offers a bit of stylish slouch, but there’s flexibility in this design—you can opt to make it even more slouchy if you desire, though it's important to note that this will impact your yardage requirements.
