Bradford Cowl - knitting pattern

Bradford Cowl

$3.99

The **Bradford Cowl** is a beautifully crafted knitting pattern designed to complement one of my previous creations, the Bradford Beanie. This delightful cowl begins with elegant ribbing, seamlessly transitioning into twisting cables that lead into the intricate main body pattern of interwoven cables. The design features twisting cables that flow in the opposite direction before culminating in a refined ribbed finishing edge. With two sizes provided, knitters can effortlessly customize the circumference and width of their cowls, tailoring the design to suit their personal preferences and maximizing their yarn usage for an ideal fit.

The inspiration for the original Bradford cowl and beanie design was sparked by a vivid dream, where I envisioned cables cascading over vertical background details. The name "Bradford" is a homage to my parents' stunning 1901 Queen Anne Victorian house located in Bradford, Pennsylvania. This remarkable home boasted an imported staircase, pocket doors, a turret, and other exquisite architectural features that truly exemplified elegance. My parents took great care to restore the house with beautiful, period-appropriate details, filling it with gorgeous antique furnishings that captured the essence of its grandeur. It is my hope that this design encapsulates the intricate beauty and sophistication of that historical period.

Please note that some colors used in the sample designs may no longer be available. We have provided substitution suggestions in the Kit Builder section below to help you find the perfect yarn for your Bradford Cowl project.

The Bradford Cowl is not just a knitting pattern; it’s a journey into a world of elegance and craftsmanship. Ideal for intermediate to advanced knitters looking to challenge their skills with intricate cable work, this cowl will add a touch of sophistication to any outfit. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to create a unique piece that celebrates both personal creativity and historical inspiration!
