YARN REQUIREMENTS: For this project, you will need a total of 360 g / 1440 m / 1575 yd of fingering weight yarn. The shawl features two colors, with Color A requiring 190 g / 760 m / 831 yd and Color B requiring 170 g / 680 m / 744 yd. For best results, we recommend using:

  • Color A: 2 skeins of Super Sock by Featherfin Yarn (Color: Copper)
  • Color B: 2 skeins of Perlgarn by Manufaktur Mamouna (Color: Hortensie trocken)

NEEDLES: Ensure you have the right tools for this project by using US size 4 (3.50 mm) circular needles with a 40” / 100 cm cable. Additionally, you will need a smaller US size 4 (3.50 mm) circular needle with a shorter cable or a couple of DPNs for creating the I-Cord. A US size 3 (3.25 mm) circular needle with a 40” / 100 cm cable is also required for the main pattern.

GAUGE: To achieve the intended design, maintain a gauge of 25 stitches and 36 rows per 4” (10 cm) in the main pattern stitch.

SKILL LEVEL & REQUIREMENTS: This pattern is ideal for intermediate knitters. Familiarity with techniques such as knitting and purling, creating I-Cord, I-Cord bind-off, picking up stitches, backwards loop cast-on, and performing decreases is essential for successfully completing this shawl.
