Bright Bird Chullo - knitting pattern

Bright Bird Chullo

$4.17

The origins of Chullo hats date back hundreds of years, steeped in the rich knitting traditions of the Peruvian Andes. Traditionally, these vibrant and intricately designed hats are hand-knitted by men, reflecting a unique cultural heritage. While I am neither of Peruvian nor Spanish origin and do not claim these designs to be authentic, this pattern is inspired by my love for such ancient knitting techniques. After extensive research involving countless photos and various knitting books, I crafted my own knit “mashup” of colors and shapes, drawing inspiration from these wonderful Andean caps.
