Cable Hearts
Welcome to our delightful knitting pattern for a small knitted blanket, perfectly sized for car seats or Moses baskets. This charming project not only provides warmth but also features an intricate cable border and a stunning cable heart pattern at its center, making it an ideal gift for newborns and infants.
In this comprehensive guide, I have included photographs showcasing various stages of this knitting project, along with detailed written instructions and easy-to-follow charts to help you through each step. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced knitter, you'll find everything you need to create a beautiful, handcrafted blanket.
One of the great aspects of this blanket pattern is its versatility; you can knit it in one color for a classic look, or get creative with two or even three colors. The accompanying images illustrate how much fun I had selecting colors from my Paintbox DK baby yarns pack. For another lovely choice, I recommend the James C. Brett Supersoft Baby DK yarn, as featured in the grey and purple sample. If you want a cooler option for the summer months, consider using King Cole Cotton Bamboo DK yarn, which feels wonderfully soft against baby's skin.
For this project, I used 3mm needles. However, if you typically work with DK yarns using 4mm needles, feel free to adjust your needle size accordingly. You will also need a cable needle to work all those beautiful cables in the pattern, as well as a tapestry needle for the final assembly of your blanket.
This unique knitting pattern is authored by me for personal use only, meaning you cannot resell the pattern or the blankets made from it for financial gain. This way, we can all enjoy the creativity and joy of knitting without the stress of commercial use.
Enjoy your knitting journey, and thank you for choosing this pattern!
