Cables and Lace Shawlette
This is the first time I've designed a shawl that beautifully combines traditional cable elements with delicate lace stitches. In this unique shawlette pattern, you'll discover five elegant cable columns gracefully surrounded by a captivating openwork pattern of lace stitches on each half of the design. For this project, I used a little less than one full skein of high-quality fingering weight merino yarn, resulting in a finished accessory that measures approximately 47x22 inches (119x55.75 cm) after blocking. The lightweight fabric makes this shawlette a versatile addition to your wardrobe, perfect for adding a touch of elegance to any outfit.
It's important to note that wet blocking is essential to truly open up the lace patterns and even out the shape of your finished shawl. This technique not only enhances the visual appeal of the lace stitches but also ensures your shawl lies flat, showcasing the intricate design.
