YARN REQUIREMENTS
For this pattern, you will need 120 yards of aran weight yarn. The sample was crafted using Posh Martha Aran, made of 80% merino, 10% nylon, and 10% cashmere, with a yardage of 180 yards (165 meters) per 100-gram skein, in the stunning colourway Chimney Sweep (Black). Alternatively, you can opt for 160 yards of lace weight yarn. The sample features Fyberspates Angora Merino Laceweight, which has a generous 880 yards (800 meters) per 100-gram skein, showcased in a beautiful Natural (Undyed) shade.
NEEDLES and NOTIONS
To complete this project, gather the following tools:
- A US 8 (5mm) circular needle, 12-16 inches (30.5-50.5 cm) in length, or a longer needle if you prefer the Magic Loop technique.
- Two cable needles for ease of handling stitches.
- A tapestry needle for weaving in ends.
- Stitch marker(s) to keep track of your rows.
- An optional larger needle, useful for casting off with a looser edge for a more polished finish.
