Caladenia Shawl
Discover the beauty of the Australian Spider orchid with our enchanting mystery knit along featuring the Caladenia Shawl Pattern. In collaboration with talented dyer Terina from Love & Speckles Yarn, we've crafted a stunning yarn palette inspired by several of her exquisite existing colourways. The colors are reminiscent of the striking Australian Spider orchid, part of the Caladenia family, which sparked my artistic vision as I drew these captivating flowers. This artistic inspiration led to the creation of the Caladenia shawl, an adventurous knitting project designed to take you on a journey through a mysterious garden filled with intricate flowers and foliage.
The Caladenia Shawl features a combination of unique knitting techniques, including short rows, mosaic knitting, and delicate lace work. As you progress through the pattern, you'll have the opportunity to learn and master new skills, all while creating a beautifully intricate shawl that you'll be proud to wear and showcase. This versatile pattern caters to both beginners and experienced knitters looking for a creative challenge.
This detailed pattern includes both written and charted instructions for the mosaic and lace sections, ensuring that you can follow along with ease. When selecting your colors, you have the option to choose between a gorgeous 3 or 4 color palette. It's vital that your C1 color contrasts strongly against C3 (or C2 if you're opting for the 3 color version) to highlight the shawl's design elements.
For the 4-COLOUR option:
- C1: 400 yd/366 m
- C2: 200 yd/183 m (This can be a softer contrast to C1)
- C3: 200 yd/183 m (This needs to be a strong contrast to C1)
- C4: 400 yd/366 m
