Carla Coat

Introducing the stunning My Carla Shoes in wine, designed by the renowned Monica Stålvang. These fabulous shoes needed a stylish coat to complement them for an evening out. The shoes demanded dramatic flair, inspiring the creation of a coat that exudes elegance and sophistication. For the fabric, I initially chose Norsk Pelsull/Pelt wool by Hifa in a rich burgundy. This luxurious fiber provides a beautiful lustre. However, I realized that to achieve the volume and texture I desired, I needed to mix it with Rowan Lima. This combination resulted in the perfect texture and deeply rich hue, making this coat an absolute showstopper.

This meticulously designed coat features an enchanting voluptuous braid that elegantly frames the body, complemented by reverse stocking stitch and double seed stitch patterns. The coat is further highlighted by a lavish large shawl collar, crafted in double seed stitch, ensuring you make a memorable entrance wherever you go.

Gauge: Achieve a precise gauge of 14 stitches and 22 rows in stocking stitch, measuring 10 cm/4” square to ensure your coat fits beautifully.

Notes: The coat's body is thoughtfully knitted flat, while the sleeves are worked in the round for that flawless finish. A-line shaping is skillfully done in stocking stitch to provide a flattering silhouette. Each cable stitch has been expertly gathered to preserve its lovely texture all the way to the end. The shawl collar is elegantly picked up and shaped using short rows, adding a sophisticated touch to this luxurious design.
