Casablanca Cowl

Introducing the stunning Casablanca Cowl, featured in Knit Now Issue 125 from 2021. This delightful, reversible cowl is skillfully crafted with alternating bands of garter stitch and moss stitch, making it an eye-catching accessory for any wardrobe. To ensure durability and a polished finish, a 2-stitch garter border is incorporated throughout the top and bottom edges. You have the option to let the beautiful color-changing yarn dictate the design, or you can exercise your creativity by changing colors for each band or every other band, allowing for endless customization!
Begin your journey with this pattern using a provisional cast-on, and after completing the first half, simply work in the opposite direction from the provisional cast-on to finish the cowl. The size shown is Large, but you can easily adjust the dimensions to suit your preferences.
Yarn Used: The pattern requires 2 balls of Lion Brand Mandala yarn in the vibrant Phoenix colorway.
About the Yarn: This yarn is classified as DK weight, with a generous yardage of 540 meters per 150-gram ball, and is made from 100% acrylic fiber. It’s not only soft and warm but also easy to care for, making it perfect for everyday wear.
Tension: To achieve the desired results, ensure your tension matches 22 stitches and 24 rows per 10 cm measured over garter stitch.
Needles Used: For this project, you will need 3.75mm circular needles, with a length of 60 cm, allowing for seamless knitting of the round cowl.
Other Supplies: Don’t forget to have a tapestry needle handy for finishing touches and weaving in loose ends.
