About this stunning cabled cowl design: I drew inspiration from the magnificent gothic arches of cathedrals, which also influenced my Cathedral Cables Hat. This intricate cowl features beautifully crafted cables that echo those architectural elements, while the upper and lower borders are knitted in a simple yet elegant rib pattern for added stretch and comfort.
Measurements: This cowl is designed to be knit using 5mm/US 8 needles for the body of the cowl.
Available in two sizes:
- Slender Cowl Size 1: Perfect for a snug fit with a circumference of 22 inches/56 cm when unblocked.
- Wider Cowl Size 2: Ideal for a more relaxed fit with a circumference of 33 inches/84 cm when unblocked.
Circumference: The cowl will stretch when worn and also after blocking—especially for wool yarns—allowing for an amazing fit.
Height of Cowl: Each size features a height of 9 inches (22.5 cm), providing just the right coverage for warmth and style.
Yardage: You will need approximately 210 to 340 yards of your favorite yarn to complete this beautiful cowl.
Written Instructions: This cowl is crafted in the round, utilizing either circular needles or double-pointed needles (DPNs), and is designed to be worked from the bottom up. The pattern includes both charted and written line-by-line instructions, making it easy for knitters of all skill levels to follow along and create their own stunning cowl.
