Cathedral
As a child, I often visited many beautiful churches during vacation trips with my parents. To this day, whenever I encounter a grand church, I find myself drawn to step inside. The serene silence and calm atmosphere in these sacred spaces provide a comforting escape. One of my favorite features of these churches is the stunning stained glass windows that adorn them, casting colorful patterns of light. This intricate shawl is inspired by the beauty of such cathedral windows.
This delightful knitting pattern offers two distinct versions and two different sizes. The first is a stunning cabled version, while the second features a design that is almost entirely cable-free, making it suitable for various skill levels and yarn preferences.
For the shawlette, you will need just 2 skeins of Wollmeise Pure yarn. I crafted the cabled version using this luxurious yarn; however, with a variegated yarn, you might find that the non-cabled version allows the colors to shine even more brilliantly. Additionally, I created the shawl using 3 skeins of Fyberspates Vivacious 4Ply, a fantastic yarn celebrated for its rich hue and delightful texture, making it a joy to knit.
Whether you are a beginner or an experienced knitter, this pattern invites you to explore your creativity while crafting a piece that reflects the stunning artistry of stained glass windows. Embrace the tranquility that inspired this shawl and create something beautiful that can be cherished for years to come!
