Thank you to all my wonderful testers! <3

While exploring Pinterest, I stumbled upon a stunning brass Art Deco embellishment adorning a piece of furniture. I instantly fell in love with its elegant design and felt inspired to create a knitted version. I quickly sketched a chart to bring the motif to life, and I'm so glad I did—unfortunately, the original inspiration picture has since been lost! To make it my own, I infused my personal flair into the center of the motif, and "Chance Brasswork" was born. I genuinely hope you enjoy this pattern as much as I enjoyed creating it! Happy knitting!

Yarn Requirements: This pattern calls for three colors of any Aran weight yarn. For my version, I used Elsebeth Lavold Misty Wool, requiring 1 skein of each color: Dark Chocolate, Pine Green, and Klein Blue. Here’s a breakdown of the approximate yardage you’ll need for each color:

  • Ribbing Color (Pine Green): 127 yards (116 meters)
  • Background Color (Dark Chocolate): 58 yards (53 meters)
  • Foreground Color (Klein Blue): 81 yards (74 meters)

Needles: You'll need Size US9 (5.5mm) needles for the ribbing section and Size US10 (6.0mm) needles for the colorwork pattern.

Gauge: The gauge is approximately 4.5 stitches per inch (2.5 cm) in stockinette stitch using the larger needles. Achieving the correct gauge is important to ensure that your finished piece has the right dimensions and drapes beautifully.

This Chance Brasswork knitting pattern is perfect for intermediate knitters looking to add an elegant flair to their project. It makes a stunning centerpiece for any knitted garment or accessory. Whether you’re knitting for yourself or as a gift, this pattern will surely impress! Explore the world of Art Deco design through your knitting, and have fun experimenting with colors and textures. Enjoy your knitting journey!
