Finished Measurements: The finished poncho measures 69” around the bottom, 18 1/2" in length, and 30" across the top, making it a versatile addition to your wardrobe.

Introducing a genuinely simple and adorable asymmetrical poncho, crafted from the top down. This unique design offers multiple styling options, allowing you to express your fashion sense in various ways. Wear it with the point in the front for a chic look, or position the point off to one side for an asymmetrical flair. You can channel classic elegance by wearing the point at the back—what I like to call the Audrey Hepburn way! For those who prefer a more playful style, try wearing it with the point draping off one shoulder (this look is not shown here). The loose gauge makes this project quick and enjoyable to knit, perfect for knitters at any level.

Choosing the Perfect Yarn for Your Poncho: Selecting the right yarn is crucial for achieving the desired drape and flow in your poncho. Look for yarns such as linen, silk noil, bamboo, or cotton, along with blends of these fibers to create a lovely draping effect. For my version, I used Bamboo Pop and am excited to try out Hempathy variegated yarn on my next poncho project. Picking the right yarn not only affects the look but also the comfort and versatility of the finished piece.

MATERIALS: Gather 450-500 yards of multicolored DK weight yarn for this project. You will need a size 10 needle or a size that allows you to obtain the correct gauge. To ensure a neat and tight cast-on, use a needle that is one size smaller for the cast on and the first three rounds of the Neck Edging.

Gauge: When working in stockinette stitch, aim for a gauge of 14 stitches and 20 rows = 4”. This will ensure your poncho has the right fit and drape.
