Chim Chim-in-ney Socks Fingering
In December of 2016, I proudly designed my first hat pattern, the Chim Chim-in-ney Hat, which has since become a beloved choice among knitters for creating festive holiday looks. Over the years, I have been thrilled to see families donning this hat for their Christmas cards and family holiday pictures, making it a cherished addition to their winter wardrobes.
Fast forward to today, I'm excited to announce my latest creation: a delightful pair of socks, developed in collaboration with Jeanette and George from Sun Valley Fibers. These socks are expertly crafted in DK weight, making them the perfect cozy house socks for the chilly month of December. For those who prefer a lighter option, I have also included a fingering weight version of the socks, allowing for versatility in your knitting projects.
These unique socks are inspired by their striking red and white appearance, reminiscent of classic bricks. This design also pays tribute to the iconic Mary Poppins film and the legendary Dick Van Dyke, who is often celebrated as the most famous chimney sweep of all time. Knitting these socks is sure to bring a touch of nostalgia and joy to your holiday season.
Note: This pattern is primarily written for Double Pointed Needles (DPNs), but feel free to use the Magic Loop method or two circular needles if that’s your preferred technique. Whether you're an experienced knitter or just beginning on your knitting journey, these socks will be a delightful and festive addition to your collection. Start knitting your own pair today and embrace the spirit of the holidays with every stitch!
