Chris's Cable Hat - knitting pattern

Chris's Cable Hat

$4.16

Introducing our stunning cable hat/toque, featuring a beautiful array of intricate cables that are sure to impress. Crafted with love, this hat was specifically designed for my brother-in-law as a thoughtful Christmas gift, perfect for braving the chilly winds of the Canadian Newfoundland winters. Whether you’re strolling through snow-covered streets or sipping hot cocoa by the fire, this toque will keep you warm and stylish.

This cozy knit hat is created in the round using 4.5mm (US 7) and 5.00mm (US 8) double pointed needles, starting with a ribbed edging that adds a touch of sophistication as it smoothly transitions to the cable detailing that adorns the body of the hat. The unique design showcases my favorite cable patterns, making it both a fun and challenging project for knitting enthusiasts.

The sample is expertly knit using New Lanark Double Knit yarn, made from 100% wool, with each 50-gram ball offering 120 meters (132 yards) of beautiful fiber. We chose two balls in the lovely Pebble Grey shade to enhance the cable design's texture and visual appeal. While wool is known for its exceptional warmth, this versatile hat pattern can also accommodate a variety of other fibers for those looking to experiment with different materials.

Our knitting pattern includes comprehensive instructions for two sizes: small, with a circumference of 17.5” (44.5cm), and medium, with a circumference of 22” (59cm). This makes it easy for knitters to customize the fit based on individual preferences or head sizes.

The pattern is user-friendly, featuring both written instructions and a detailed chart for the cable designs, ensuring that knitters of all skill levels can enjoy creating this beautiful piece. Whether you're an experienced knitter or just starting, this project is sure to provide a fulfilling and enjoyable experience.

We hope you love this cable hat/toque pattern as much as we do! Share your finished creations with us, and happy knitting!
