Coastal cowl
I'm fortunate to call the beautiful seaside of North Norfolk my home, where I am constantly inspired by the stunning candy-colored cliffs. These majestic cliffs boast vibrant shades of brown, red, and cream—comprising chalk and carrstone, the local stone unique to this region.
The captivating colors and textures of these cliffs have directly influenced the design of this delightful summer cowl knitting pattern. The base of the cowl features a mixed yarn in hues of red, brown, and pink, reflecting the remarkable cliffs that surround me. To evoke the essence of the foaming surf crashing against the shore, I've incorporated a lovely cream color paired with a delicate lace open stitch known as seafoam. This intricate stitch adds a beautiful texture that mimics the dynamic ocean waves.
To complete the look, the cowl is finished off with a few additional rows of the mixed red, brown, and pink yarn, creating a harmonious blend that captures the essence of a summer day by the sea. Whether you're a knitting enthusiast or just starting out, this pattern is perfect for anyone looking to craft a unique accessory that celebrates the natural beauty of coastal living.
