$6.50

Experience unparalleled comfort and warmth with this beautifully designed oversized shawl knitting pattern. I aimed to create a cozy accessory that you can effortlessly integrate into your home, whether you're snuggling up on the couch or adding a touch of elegance to your favorite chair. The simplicity of the design, featuring classic Stockinette and Garter Stitch patterns, makes this shawl an approachable project for knitters of all levels. Its generous size means it can be draped stylishly over your shoulders or used as a comforting wrap on chilly evenings.

SIZE: One Size

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: This lovely shawl boasts a wingspan of 73 inches and a depth of 34 inches, providing ample coverage and versatility for various occasions.

YARN: I chose Berroco Remix Light for this project, a luxurious blend of 30% Nylon, 27% Cotton, 24% Acrylic, 10% Silk, and 9% Linen. Each ball contains 432 yards (or 40 meters) and weighs 3.5 ounces (100 grams). You'll need two balls of 6975-Earth (Color A) and two balls of 6933-Patina (Color B) to complete this beautiful shawl.

GAUGE: To ensure your shawl has the perfect drape and feel, aim for a gauge of 16 stitches and 26 rows to equal 4 inches when using the Stockinette Stitch.

TOOLS: For this project, you will require US 10 (6.0 mm) 10½-inch (6.5 mm) circular needles, ideally a 32-inch circular needle to accommodate the shawl’s size, and a yarn needle to weave in ends for a polished finish.

STITCHES: The primary techniques used in this pattern include:

  • Stockinette Stitch: Create a lovely fabric by knitting one row and purling the next.
  • Garter Stitch: Achieve a delightful texture by knitting every row.

This oversized shawl is not only a practical addition to your wardrobe, but it also makes an excellent gift for friends and family. They’ll appreciate the warmth and style it brings. Ready your yarn and needles for this charming project that will keep you cozy all season long!
