Inspired by my previous design, the Coral Reef Wrap, these socks are worked cuff-down in the round using the magic-loop method, making them a great addition to your collection of knitting patterns.
SIZE: One size fits all, with 64 stitches. The finished leg circumference measures 20 cm / 8 inches, designed to fit with slight negative ease for a snug but comfortable wear. Both leg and foot lengths are fully adjustable, allowing for customization to suit any foot size.
YARN: This pattern is specifically designed for fingering weight sock yarn, ensuring a luxurious feel and durability. For the sample, we used the exquisite Malabrigo Yarn Ultimate Sock (fingering weight, composed of 75% Superwash Merino and 25% Nylon), which offers an impressive yardage of 100 g = 385 m / 420 yds. We recommend the beautiful colourway Caramel for a warm and inviting finish.
GAUGE & NEEDLES: To achieve the desired fit, ensure a gauge of 30 stitches x 44 rounds = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4 inches in stockinette stitch, and 32 stitches x 44 rounds = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4 inches in rib stitch pattern after washing and gentle blocking. For this project, use 2.5 mm / US 1.5 needles, ideal for knitting in the round using the magic-loop method. A circular needle of at least 80 cm / 32 inches in length is recommended, or adjust to a size that helps you achieve the proper gauge.
