Cordwood Cowl
Cordwood is the perfect knitting project for those last-minute holiday gifts that will surely impress your loved ones. This versatile pattern allows you to create a beautiful scarf that combines warmth and style, making it an essential accessory for any cold-weather outfit. By working at a looser gauge than typical for worsted weight yarn, you'll find that this project not only knits up quickly but also results in a soft and lightweight finished piece that's incredibly cozy to wear.
This unique scarf design is based on my popular Kindling Shawl, featured in Brooklyn Tweed's renowned Wool People 5 Collection. The Cordwood scarf is straightforward to knit, providing an excellent opportunity for knitters of all skill levels to enhance their crafting repertoire. Its length is perfect for doubling up around the neck for extra warmth, and you can easily adjust the circumference by changing the cast-on count in multiples of 8. Keep in mind that this modification will require some adjustment to the yardage needed.
This knitting pattern is especially ideal for beginner knitters looking to gain confidence with charts, as well as those interested in mastering projects in the round. Comprehensive written instructions complement the charts to ensure an enjoyable knitting experience.
