Materials Needed: To get started on your knitting journey, gather the following supplies: one 4mm (US 6) circular needle or a pair of 4mm (US 6) straight needles, depending on your preference. The yarn showcased in the photos is a luxurious 100% Flagstaff Alpaca 4ply/fingering weight yarn, with approximately 450 meters per skein. For this project, you will need 2 skeins. Additional tools required include 1 cable needle, 4 stitch markers, a yarn needle for weaving in ends, and a blocking mat with pins for achieving the perfect finish.
Important Note: This versatile shawl can easily be adapted to use other 4ply/fingering weight yarns. Just keep in mind the yardage requirements. To maximize your yarn usage, we recommend weighing your skeins before starting, and then weighing them again after you complete the first rib band. This will guide you in determining how much yarn remains for additional pattern repeats in the body of the shawl before finishing with the end rib border. This practical tip helps ensure you make the most of your beautiful yarn and achieve the desired length for your shawl.
Abbreviations: To help you navigate through the pattern more easily, a comprehensive list of abbreviations will be provided. Be prepared to enjoy a relaxing and rewarding knitting experience as you create this exquisite rectangular shawl that is perfect for any occasion.
