Crossing Over
After the successful release of “Naturally Yours” last year, I was inspired to delve back into the delightful and versatile world of De Rerum Natura yarn. This time, I've crafted another stunning open front cardigan, which happens to be my absolute favorite type of sweater! Introducing “Crossing Over,” this exquisite cardigan is designed to be worked top down and seamless, making it ideal for those who appreciate effortless construction methods. It begins elegantly with a wide collar, seamlessly transitioning into the yoke and body.
The back of the cardigan showcases an easy-to-knit half brioche stitch pattern, featuring an intriguing shaping detail. This detail is inspired by an updated version of the unique shaping I used in my previous design, “Wien” pullover. Unlike the original design, which had a back crossing that meandered in only one direction, “Crossing Over” boasts a larger back crossing that gracefully moves “up” and then “down,” adding depth and dimension to the garment. This comfortable and laid-back cardigan is perfect for layering and will effortlessly elevate any casual outfit!
**Gauge:** 18 sts and 25 rows per 4” [10 cm] in reverse stockinette stitch with larger needles after blocking.
Whether you're a seasoned knitter or just starting your journey, the “Crossing Over” cardigan offers a unique challenge while delivering stunning results. It’s perfect for enhancing your wardrobe with a stylish yet cozy piece that complements any ensemble. Enjoy making your own version of this striking cardigan, and add a timeless design to your knitting collection!
