Cubbie Bear

$4.00

Create your very own adorable baby bear cub with this delightful knit pattern! This charming cub, affectionately named Cubby, is crafted using soft faux fur yarn, making it not only a cuddly companion but also an achievable project for knitters of various skill levels. Each piece of Cubby is knitted flat, with the exception of the legs, which are expertly worked in the round to provide a realistic look and feel. Once all pieces are complete, they are sewn together, carefully stuffed, and given life with an option to either sew on or embroider the face for a personal touch. To keep Cubby warm on chilly winter nights, a stylish sweater-vest is included, knitted in bulky yarn for added warmth and comfort!

SKILLS REQUIRED: This pattern is perfect for those who are familiar with basic knitting techniques such as casting on, binding off, increasing, and decreasing stitches. You will also need skills in seaming, attaching yarn, filling and shaping your project, and sewing, alongside creating a beautiful single-crochet edging for the final touch.

YARN: For the body of Cubby, you'll need Lion Brand "Go for Faux" yarn (100% polyester, 65 yds (60 m) per 100 g skein) in the lovely color of Pomeranian. Two skeins are required. For the paw-pads, a small amount of brown worsted yarn will suffice. For the vest, the main color (MC) will be a brown bulky yarn requiring approximately 25 yards (23 meters). The contrasting color (CC) is Lion Brand "Feels Like Bliss" yarn (100% nylon, 109 yds in 100 g) in the vibrant color of Pumpkin Spice, requiring approximately 20 yards (18 m) and creating a lovely visual effect on the vest!

KNITTING NEEDLES: To complete this pattern, you will need US 13 (9 mm) circular needles for working flat, along with US 13 (9 mm) double-pointed needles (DPN) for the legs, and a set of US 8 (5 mm) double-pointed needles for finer details. With the right tools and a bit of love, you'll create a treasured keepsake.

Whether you're an experienced knitter or just getting started, this baby bear cub knitting pattern is not to be missed! Enjoy hours of crafting fun as you bring Cubby to life, and give this cozy companion to a loved one or keep it for yourself!
